Aaron Vale: A Show Jumping Legend

www.thinkslikeahorse.com

"At the top levels of every sport, everyone is looking for an advantage. Amerigo saddles give my horses that extra advantage. Amerigo saddles put me in a balanced position and allow my horses to move and jump freely with very little interference from the tack. The end result is increased performance from my horses."

- Aaron Vale

Early Beginnings and Career Highlights

Aaron Vale, an esteemed American show jumper, began his illustrious career at a remarkably young age. Entering his first Grand Prix at just 14, Vale quickly ascended through the ranks of show jumping, amassing over 250 Grand Prix wins to date.

Vale holds several records, including the most Grand Prix wins in a year, the most double-clear rounds in a year, and the most money won in a year. In 1997, he made history by sweeping the top five places in the $50,000 Grand Prix of Roanoke. His exceptional talent has also been recognized internationally; he was part of the winning Nations Cup team at the CSIO in Drammen, Norway, in 2001.

Versatility and Achievements

Vale's versatility extends beyond show jumping. As a Junior rider, he was the reserve champion at all three equitation finals: Maclay, Medal, and USET. He also earned the title of Best Child Rider at the Washington International Horse Show and The Pennsylvania National. His skills have carried him across various disciplines, including equitation, hunters, and derby riding. Notably, he has won the USHJA Hunter International and National Derbies and twice claimed victory in the $500,000 Diamond Mills Hunter Prix.

Recent Accomplishments

In 2022, Vale rode Elusive in the FEI World Cup™ Finals in Leipzig, Germany, finishing in 20th place. His winning streak continued into 2023, where he secured multiple victories, including the $100,000 MARS Equestrian Grand Prix CSI3* at WEC Ocala.

Current Endeavors

Today, Vale manages Thinkslikeahorse, a full-service training facility in Williston, Florida. The facility boasts quality jumpers, hunters, and equitation horses, offering training lessons, sales, and a calendar of upcoming events. Vale continues to train and compete, sharing his wealth of knowledge and experience with the next generation of riders.

Personal Life

Aaron Vale is married to fellow equestrian Mallory, and together they have a daughter, Kinser, who is also involved in equestrian activities. Kinser competes in low-level jumpers on her pony, Magic Beans, and shares the same competitive spirit as her parents.

Endorsements and Beliefs

Vale is a strong advocate for Amerigo saddles, which he believes provide his horses with a significant advantage. "Amerigo saddles put me in a balanced position and allow my horses to move and jump freely with very little interference from the tack. The end result is increased performance from my horses," says Vale.

Conclusion

Aaron Vale's career is a testament to his dedication, skill, and passion for equestrian sports. From his early beginnings to his current role as a trainer and competitor, Vale continues to leave an indelible mark on the world of show jumping.
