Wellington, FL (February 4, 2016)– When Yanina Woywitka enters the ring, she always plans on making a standout appearance – and not just with a flashy trot. The 16-year-old rider from Ottawa, Canada always aims to look picture perfect with her equine partner, from head to toe and hoof to ears. During the third week of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival, Yanina was recognized for her polished turnout and was awarded with the World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters Award.
Woywitka made the trek from her home in Ottawa, Canada to Wellington, Florida after she had much success competing on a team from Ontario, Canada in the junior division of the North American Junior and Young Riders Competition, which took place on July 14-19 in Lexington, Kentucky. Coming to the United States again to compete— and at the world-renowned Adequan Global Dressage Festival for her first time— is a dream come true for the young rider.
The Tack Matters Award, presented by World Equestrian Brands, is awarded to riders like Woywitka throughout the 2016 Adequan Global Dressage Festival – continuing in World Equestrian Brands’ tradition of rewarding riders for impressive turnout since the inception of the winter series. The high performance tack distributor, which sells world-class products made by E.A. Mattes, Vespucci, Equilibrium, and Amerigo, looks forward to presenting deserving horse and rider pairs with the World Equestrian Brands Tack Matters Award throughout the winter show season. Winners of the award will be presented with a pair of Equilibrium Stretch & Flex Patent Bell Boots, providing a complimentary taste of the type of equipment that bring equestrian pairs to the next level.
For Woywitka, the award was a welcomed surprise – and a reminder that her meticulous attention to appearance and functional equipment pays off. “It’s important to turn the horse and rider out to make a pretty picture,” explained Woywitka. “So, I try to make the horse appear as clean-cut as I can to really make an impression when I walk into the ring.”
From Woywitka’s performance in the FEI Prix St. George class and recognition of her presentation by World Equestrian Brands, it’s clear she did just that.
